Getting Started

Sign in with your Google account, pick the languages you want to learn, and start reading. LingoGist generates passages at your level — just read, tap words you don't know, and answer the comprehension checks.

How does the feed work?

The reading feed shows you short passages in your target languages. Each passage is followed by a quick comprehension check. As you read more, LingoGist learns which words you know and generates progressively harder content.

What can I tap?

Tap any word in a passage to see its definition and hear its pronunciation. For languages with romanization (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.), you can also tap the romanized text.

What are the different card types?

Passages — Short reading exercises in your target language.
Probes — Comprehension checks after passages (gist questions, self-assessment, vocabulary quizzes).
Etymology cards — Fun word history facts with Wiktionary references.
Vocab spotlights — Featured words with pronunciation guides and example sentences.
Mini-games — Number challenges, word matching, and listening exercises.

Managing your account

Go to Settings to change your languages, reset progress, download your data, or delete your account.
